The food is very good at Hundley's. Bought their chicken salad, potato salad, ground beef and chicken drumettes/wings for making chicken soup this weekend! I was looking for those packs they used to sell for $5.00 or $6.00 with hot dogs, bacon and a piece of meat in it. They didn't have it this trip. I was also looking for chicken thighs and drumsticks. They only had the HOT chicken drums. Will return. It's a quiet place and people are friendly and very helpful to customers. You can pay with cash or credit card. No checks.

Unfortunately, this type of business is a dying breed. It's a convenient store (without gas) that has a grill inside. I grew up on a couple stores similar to Hundley's in VA and I'm glad to know that this one isn't to far away when I'm in the mood or nearby The store itself is a small country market with things like gum, snack cakes, chips, minor car stuff, drinks, wine, beer, and much more. It's nice store overall but you definitely get the old country store feel. The grill is my favorite part of the store. They sell hamburgers, hotdogs, fries, sandwiches and much more. I'll be honest, I've never enjoyed their fries but one thing that isn't on the menu to view but if you know the store, you'd know they sold it. It's called Tex-mex. These are like cheesy hash brown poppers with jalapeño chunks and they are absolutely delicious. I recommend getting some ranch dressing for dipping. Oh yeah, their weenies are the old style red Jesse Jones weenies and their chili is homemade. Yumm You can call in orders but if they're busy inside the store, the phone takes a backseat. If your in the area, even driving down HWY 220, I recommend stopping in and grabbing a hotdog or burger and definitely some Tex-mex.
